If you would like a question answered or would like to see a particular question added to the FAQ list, contact David Gaines.
Q. What is an independent jeweler? A. Being an independent jeweler means we don't have a parent company somewhere running things. The advantages to this are many but among the obvious are the capability it gives us to carry unique merchandise not seen in many chain stores, as well the ability to develop relationships with our suppliers giving us the best values and outstanding service support.
Q. What is a Lifetime Battery Warranty? A. Any watch purchased at Gaines has always carried with a promise on our part to replace the battery in that watch at no charge for the life of the watch. NOW, even if the watch wasn't purchased from us, we will charge the normal fee of $5, and as long as you keep the receipt, we will replace the battery at no charge for the life of the watch. Certain restrictions apply, but not many!
Q. Don't larger stores have better prices because they buy in bulk? A. Honestly, yes, and no. A company buying six hundred of a particular item will in most cases get a better price than a store like us buying six. HOWEVER, many times our price to you the customer is just as good or better due to our low operating cost and excellent credit rating.
Q. Why are there such big variations in prices in advertisements? A. Usually, quality is the difference. If you are looking for the cheapest diamond in town, be careful, you just might find it. We can guide you to help you find an item that is both affordable for your budget AND is something you can be proud to wear or give.
Q. Will I get hit by a hard sell sales person in your store? A. NO. Our sales staff is probably the only one in the county that does not get paid based on commissions. Therefore, they are able to have your best interest in mind and can assist you and not strong arm you.
Q. Do you have financing available? A. We do arrange financing through Wells Fargo. See store for details.
Q. Do you accept credit cards? A. We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, and American Express
Repairs
Q. Does my jewelry have to be sent out to be repaired? A. Never. We have a full shop in our store to assure that your jewelry remains under our roof and under our supervision. In the rare circumstance that your piece needs to be shipped to another facility, you will be notified before the fact for your approval.
Q. How do I know I'll get the same diamond back that I left for repair? A. Mr. Gaines first response is always, I've been honest for too long to start being crooked now. But seriously, we realize this a large concern for anyone who is not familiar with us or the way we do business. We can examine your piece with you, under magnification, and point out characteristics in your diamond that are unique to your diamond. And if you choose, we can again examine your diamond when you pick it up to set your mind at ease that you are indeed receiving the same item you left. We want you to be comfortable.
Q. Does Gaines repair watches? A. Bob Gaines is a licensed horologist and has been repairing watches for over fifty years. Much of the minor work (crystals, stems, crowns) is still done by Mr. Gaines and more intricate work is done by our watch repair facility off premises. |
