You don't have to look far these days to find someone selling jewelry. These are merchants. Webster defines a merchant as "someone who sells commodities directly to consumers." |
We at Gaines are of course also merchants. However, we like to think of ourselves as a bit more than just "sellers of commodities." We are equipped with a full repair and gem setting facility. Our staff includes two skilled goldsmiths working daily, doing nothing except jewelry repair and jewelry creating. Also on staff is a licensed watchmaker, a profession becoming more and more scarce, who handles much of our watch repairs.
All of this expertise offers you the customer a few distinct advantages:
- The assurance that any time your items are repaired or adjusted, it will be done quickly, correctly, and will never leave our site.
- A sales staff that aren't just skilled in the "gift of gab." They have a working knowledge of the industry and enjoy giving advice, based on that knowledge, to help make your decision one you won't regret.
- Quality merchandise. If we can't repair it, we won't sell it. You won't find hollow chains, poorly set tennis bracelets, or other "gimmick" jewelry in our inventory. We want you to last as our customer so we carry jewelry built to last as well.
- Expert jewelry repair. We view the repair part of our business as an opportunity to gain your confidence, not just gain some "easy money." Some stores prey on people's fear to perform repairs that may not be necessary. At Gaines, we give you an honest opinion and quality workmanship.

Look at it this way. Would you purchase a new automobile just because it has a nice paint job? You would probably want to talk to someone who is qualified to answer your questions about the vehicle. You would also probably want to know that the dealership had a service department equipped to be there for you if needed.
We are proud to have built one of the most experienced and knowledgeable staff in the area. Allow us the honor of putting the knowledge to work for you. |
